Jones Gems was founded in 2017 by Malan Jones, a gemologist with a deep-rooted passion for gemstones and an extensive background in Natural Resources Management, geology, gemology, chemistry, and gem cutting. What started as a vision to share the world’s most beautiful stones has since blossomed into a trusted name in the gemstone and fine jewelry industry.

From our humble beginnings, we’ve operated with a single mission: to offer gemstones that not only shine but also tell a story of craftsmanship, authenticity, and timeless beauty. Based in Sri Lanka, with offices in Ekala (Ja-Ela) and Moratuwa, we specialize in sourcing rough gemstones directly from mining areas, local auctions, and a network of trusted suppliers. Every stone is carefully cut in-house, ensuring that it meets our high standards of quality before it’s ever made available to the world.

In just a few short years, we’ve expanded our reach internationally, with an official export license that allows us to serve clients in China, Thailand, the USA, Europe, Japan, and beyond. Alongside loose gemstones, we’ve also embraced the art of custom jewelry design, offering bespoke pieces crafted with gold, platinum, and silver, tailored to suit the unique vision of each client.

We’re proud to represent Sri Lanka’s rich gem heritage at leading global exhibitions, and our recent participation in Guangzhou and Kunming, China, reflects our ongoing journey of growth and excellence.
